At Aurivo Jewels, we have a deep reverence for the earth's history. While we frequently work with traditional precious stones, we hold a special place in our atelier for natural Baltic amber.
What is Baltic Amber?
Unlike crystalline gemstones formed under immense pressure, amber is an organic gem. It is the fossilized resin of ancient coniferous trees that thrived 40 to 60 million years ago. Found primarily along the shores of the Baltic Sea, this resin flowed down tree bark, sometimes capturing tiny fragments of ancient forests—leaves, seeds, or even prehistoric insects—before hardening into the glowing gemstone we see today.
The Warmth of the Sun
Amber is famously known for its rich, warm hues ranging from pale lemon to deep, honeyed cognac and even rare cherry red. When set in our warm 18K yellow gold, amber pieces seem to glow from within, radiating a soft, sunlit energy.
A Unique Story in Every Piece
Because amber is an organic formation, no two pieces are exactly alike. The natural inclusions—whether they are tiny air bubbles or ancient botanical matter—make every stone a unique fingerprint of prehistoric life. Wearing an amber ring or pendant is quite literally wearing a piece of history frozen in time.
